Massive Regression!?
The plugings, which used to work great, seem to have stopped working in recent
nighlies (~ 2001-10-21). This is particularly annoying because the Opera plugin
for GetRight HACK doesn't work anymore either :(
See attached screenshot for a list of my plugins:

Confirming. I suggest putting regression in the summary. Man, these recent
builds suck.

Hm...works with my debug trunk build....I'll pull a Win32 nightly trunk build as
soon as I know the blockers for today.

At least flash and java plugins do work on my 2001102503 Win98, but I agree,
recent builds do suck!

hm...can you delete your components.reg file and see if that makes plugins work?
Please test before and after you delete and note what plugin and version you
tried on which Mozilla buildID.

WFM now on build 2001-11-12, winNT with plugins for:
- GetRight (opera hack)
- Java
- QuickTime 5
- ShockWaveFlash
All plugins were fist installed to Netscape 4.x and then manually copied to
Mozilla (wha a pain in the A$$). There must be a better way. Isn't this an
important evangelism issue?
I'll attach the plugin files I used. Maybe mozilla.org should ask the respective
companies if mozilla.org can put them on an FTP server so us tester/users can
have better access to plugings.

Now I cannot download my own attachments. All I get when I click on the
appachments above is a Save As dialogue with "attachment.cgi" as the suggested
filename :(

That's allright. Just rename it to whatever it should be before clicking on Save
button.

Andrei, thanks for the workaround on the missnamed downloads. I disagree that it
is "allright" though. Is this a bug? Where does the problem lie?
- with Bugzilla?
- with Mozilla?
- with my profile?
Has a bug been filed? (bug#?)

I think you should specify right mime type when you create attachments. This for
sure works for zip files: when you click on .zip attachment with the appropriate
mime type specified it will offer you to open it with winzip. The real bug could
be that it does not keep the original file name.
Anyway, if a bug, it should be filed against Bugzilla, I guess.

I don't understand mime types. "ZIP" should be part of the drop down choices. If
you tell me the mime type, I'll edit the attachments.
What a silly barrier to uploading files :(

The problem you're carping about is trivial and uninteresting. however it
represents a few bugs.
1. mozilla doesn't really support suggested filenames
2. bugzilla doesn't offer a way to specify them
3. that has absolutely nothing to do w/ whatever you were complaining about here
so it should have been left out of the bug.
1 and 2 are reported, i think your tendency for 3 is too but we can't fix that one.
Afaik you never attached a screenshot, am i correct? you also never pasted the
output from about:plugins or somehow indicated how you knew that plugins didn't
work.
Oh, and you don't have my sympathy, this comment was written using QNX Mozilla
which has no plugin support, it's a clear bug that has a patch but has received
no attention from the plugin team.

WFM with recent builds. Must have been fixed, or I was doing something wrong -
not sure which.
[OT]
timeless, your last comments were rude and arrogant. To use words such as
"carping", "trivial", "uninteresting" and "complaining" to describe my comments
is inappropriate and unacceptable. I also never asked for your sympathy. You
obviously have issues and in my oppinion, NO amount of technical expertise
justifies your rudeness. Got it?
BTW, I had already previously stated that it WFM (2001-11-13 05:06), so there
was no longer a need to post about:plugins. You #§$%#.
PS, by posting your rude comments in this bug, you forced me to respond here as
well. I apologize to all others for the interruption. And now back to your
regularly scheduled program...
