There was recently some server trouble with node 105, which showed as a large increase in 503 responses.  See attached log for example - in my case it got a 503 while trying to fetch /crypto/keys.

I'm running Aurora (34.0a2 (2014-09-14)) and this surfaced in the UI as an error bar with text "Server incorrectly configured".  AFAICT this was an ordinary 503 with retry header, and I did not explicitly "sync now", so it should have been silenced rather than showing an error bar.
