From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:0.9.5+) Gecko/20011022 BuildID: 2001102308 The feature of mozilla under UNIX that allows opening a link in a new window by clicking on the link with the middle button is a real timesaver that i use every day. I'd like to see it enhanced a bit. With the advent of tabbed browsing, i've started using a single browser window with multiple tabs for everything. Now the middle mouse button shortcut has gotten a little messy, as i no longer want a new window, i want a new tab. Of course i can right-click on the link and select `Open in new Tab' but this is somewhat less convenient and i usually forget. What would be nice (and should be easy to do?) is a preferences item for changing the middle button action from `open in new window' to `open in new tab'. There may be other options that could be presented as well, such as `Copy link address' for those who use it a lot. Ideally i'd like to see at least these options for a middle-click: - Open link in new tab and focus new tab - Open link in new tab without focus - Open link in new window and focus new window - Open link in new window without focus - Copy link address The reason for the `no focus' options is that usually when i open a link in a new window/tab, it's because i want to keep reading the page i'm on, but start the new page loading somewhere for later reference. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: not a problem.
Preferences > Navigator > Tabbed browsing has some of these already...
Whoops! I'm sorry, i simply hadn't seen those options. That pretty much covers everything i wanted, and more! My apologies... this feature request should be closed, then. Sorry for the spurious traffic.
okidoke! :)
