RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 544580

People

(Reporter: stephen.trigg, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/35.0.1916.153 Safari/537.36
Build ID: 20140830210659

Steps to reproduce:

Enter any combination of any number of groups of less than three characters separated by punctuation into the search box on the main page and press enter or click the search button.
For example "10.66.20.34" or "An e.g. to me"

Actual results:

The search produces no results.

Expected results:

A list of emails containing strings matching the search parameter should have been produced.
very early in the design process, it was decided that only terms >=3 characters would be indexed.

That said, part of what you are seeing is probably bug 544580
