1071059 - Email for bug change, which actually didn't happen

On 2014-09-16 I got an email for bug 622261 with this message:

Bug 622261 depends on Bug 1041426, which changed state.

What         Removed    Added
Status       ASSIGNED   RESOLVED
Resolution   ---        FIXED

Referenced Bugs:

    [Bug 1041426] Syntax errors in function call parameters unclear


Product/Component: Core :: JavaScript Engine
You are receiving this mail because:

    You are on the CC list for the bug.


Though at that day bug 1041426 didn't receive any changes according to its history.[1] So obviously that notification was sent incorrectly.

Note that I am CC'ed on bug 622261 and I am the reporter of bug 1041426.

bugzilla currently sends bugmail that is generated, even if the change happened within a transaction which was then rolled back (bug 448574).  i'll chat with the bmo team to see if it's worth backporting that.

it's highly likely that is the cause of these emails.


sebastian, what's the exact timestamp of that email?  i'll need that in order to dig into the error logs to see if there's an obvious corresponding error.

According to the 'Date' header it is Tue, 16 Sep 2014 08:08:52 +0000.

oops, looks like we failed to investigate this in time.  the logs are gone, sorry about that :(
