If you want to dig into it this comes from the jenkins IRC plugin, which will be fed by the hg poller.
So I'm guessing we'll have to truncate the commit message to first line for all commits handled by the poller? (In http://mxr.mozilla.org/build-central/source/buildbotcustom/changes/hgpoller.py#257) (I can't find any specific jenkins mentions)
Jenkins is not using buildbotcustom at all.
18:28 <edmorley> does anyone know where the releng jenkins code lives - specifically the hg poller that feeds the jenkins irc bot? 18:29 <edmorley> or is it all going away in favour of travis, and thus fixing the bot to not give the full multi-line commit message is pointless? 18:35 <rail> edmorley: ignore that, it's going away
