1. Create a messages to 2 unknown numbers.
2. Tap the first one, and it jumps to the end.
3. Tap the first one(and it is not the number as in step2) again, and it jumps to the end.

I think it's been made on purpose, especially when you have more than 2 numbers.

When you have more than 2 numbers, you need to slide down the recipient panel, then tap to edit, and then the recipient panel slides up before you can edit. That's why the editable recipient is moved to the end.

I tried to look up the old UX specs but could not find anything about this, so I'm gonna ask Jenny.

I think we could change this if by chance we have only 1 line of recipients in the panel. Now, is it really worth the added complexity?

Hi there,

I find the behavior Eric described here is not very intuitive, the sudden change of editable number position can be a little confusing visually. The root cause is as Julien described, our recipient field keeps sliding back whenever user starts typing. So I think a redesign is in need.

I'm currently working on updating attachment 8440602 [details] in Bug 905169 to address the issue described here. One of the component I proposed to use is under building block evaluation, I will upload the spec once things are settled. Thanks :)
