From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC; en-US; rv:0.9.5) Gecko/20011011
BuildID: 2001101117
There is a link in this Mozlliazine post which causes the browser to crash
almost the instant the link is clicked.
The link which causes the crash is in the quoted section of the Mozillazine post:
"I think that's just plain wrong. When I go at (LINK) I get a cool Minesweeper
clone written in XUL/JS so I think XUL can work just like any webpage :)"
The post is found in the link
(www.mozillazine.org/talkback.html?article=2061&message=97#97 ). Only the
link in the Mozillazine post and not the ULR to Mozillazine causes the crash.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Click on (link) in the Mozillazine post found here:
www.mozillazine.org/talkback.html?article=2061&message=97#97
2.The browser instantly crashes.
Actual Results: The browser crashes hard and corrupts the Mozilla preferences
in the System Folder.
Expected Results: I expected the link to function.
I am unsure if this is a XUL or JS problem or some other issue since I am unable
to access the link. My hunch is that it may not be XUL or JS since the crash
happens more quickly than it would take for the browser to access the link. I am
sorry if this bug does not belong in the JS componet, I guessed that JS might
remotely be the cause of this bug.

Changing component to Browser-General until we can get a stack trace.
Not likely to be a JS Engine bug.

Marking WORKSFORME, using Mozilla trunk build 2001102608 on Mac9.1
I have no problem at all at this site; no errors in JS Console.
pbergsag@home.com: could you try the site with a newer build?
If the bug has gone away for you, too, please mark this bug "Verified";
otherwise, you can reopen it - thanks.
