RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1071885

People

(Reporter: mybugz99, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; rv:21.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/21.0
Build ID: 20140923221838

Steps to reproduce:

1. Downloaded and installed (successfully) SeaMonkey 2.29.1 over 2.26.1
2. Open Composer and "create" a page (or even a blank page with nothing but the default HTML skeleton that Composer starts with).
3. Save document (Save Page As dialog will display, as normal).
4. Attempt to close document, or save it again after changes.

- Windows XP (Enlish-US region)
- no changes to SeaMonkey preferences
- ignore my UserAgent--it's custom set to phony values

Actual results:

Save Page As dialog appears again. This dialog will be shown repeatedly until the file is closed and re-opened in Composer. (After closing and re-opening it no longer shows Save Page As dialog repeatedly).

Expected results:

After file is saved once, hitting the Save button or using File > Save (not Save As) should simply save the file using its existing name. It should not repeatedly prompt for the filename via the Save Page As dialog. It didn't do this in any version up to at least 2.26.1.

I suspect any save is triggering launch of the Save As behavior until Composer is closed once.
Oops...made a mistake in Steps to Reproduce:
Item 4 should simply say "Attempt to save it again, with changes or with no changes."
Status: UNCONFIRMED → NEW
Ever confirmed: true
Regression from SeaMonkey 2.26.1.
This bug no longer occurs in SeaMonkey 2.38a2 (Build ID 20150707023210).
It also appears to be the same as bug 1071885.

DUP of "Bug 1071885 - Composer: "Save As" with new filename; later "Save" wants to use OLD filename" due to comment 3 and own investigations.
