Well, this should be interesting.

We're getting the a slowly increasing number of syslog messages regarding
core1.scl3 xe-0/0/3.

This is a critical link.  Let's fix it.
But, it's going to cause a lot of routing instability inside of the SCL3
data center, we need to schedule this change carefully.  Possibly in the
next tree closing window.  It'll be an interesting test actually.

btw - the warning in syslog is about "link 4", but juniper doesn't tell you
what interface that is.  But I learned you can do a: "show interfaces diagnostics optics" and look for an alarm being set to "on"...
