Details
From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:0.9.5) Gecko/20011011 BuildID: 2001101117 From 0.9.4 onwards I found that the backspace on the keyboard does not work. I have not observed it in prior versions of mozilla. I had Netscape 6.1 till y'day which was based on 0.9.2. Backspace took me to the previous page. Today I downloaded NS6.2 which, I believe is based on 0.9.4. Now I am not able to use backspace key. Currently I am using Mozilla 0.9.5 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open any webpage and click on links from there 2.Press the BACKSPACE Key 3.The previous screen is not obtained. Expected Results: Mozilla should take me to the previous screen.

As mentioned in bug 60102, backspace was causing problems in plugins (for instance, hitting backspace in a Flash form would take the user back). So, that functionality has been taken out. Marking WONTFIX. Of course, you can still use Alt-left and Alt-right for Back/Fwd. -> Keyboard Navigation
