STR: 1. Start Firefox. 2. Move Forget button to toolbar 3. Enter fullscreen mode (F11) 4. Click Forget button, select 24 hours or any option and select forget. Expected: Browser restarts and the thanks message is pointing to Forget button Actual: Thanks message is pointing to navigation bar. Notes: 1. This is Linux only (we used Ubuntu 14.04 and 12.04) 2. Screenshot showing the issue: https://db.tt/k2kWPDoz 3. This issues is intermittent.

Does "linux only" here mean "explicitly not OS X and Windows"?
(In reply to Justin Dolske [:Dolske] from comment #1) > Does "linux only" here mean "explicitly not OS X and Windows"? Yes, because in both of those the new window doesn't appear to stay in fullscreen, AIUI.

I can't reproduce this. However, when using official nightlies, I don't see a panel at all. I showed this to dolske (in some state of despair). When using a locally built copy of Firefox, the panel always shows up, and shows up in the right spot. When then going back to official nightlies, the panel consistently shows up, and in the right spot. The code on the JS side here is not special. I'd like to close this as incomplete until/unless we get better STR. Jared, objections/ideas?

I can't reproduce this either on Ubuntu 12.04 with Firefox Nightly 10/22/2014.

I was able to reproduce this bug on Latest Nightly 36.0a1 (2014-10-22) using Ubuntu 14.04 x86. I followed the STR presented by Bogdan and after the browser restarted, the thanks message was pointing to navigation bar (any mouse action moves the thanks message in the correct position). I think this bug can be reopend as I reproduced it. [bugday-20141022]

Bug 1088171 comment 1 says this might be 64-bit only? Which seems unusual.
(In reply to Justin Dolske [:Dolske] from comment #7) > Bug 1088171 comment 1 says this might be 64-bit only? Which seems unusual. That was an observation based on what I saw from the couple of reports of this for the test challenge. Not conclusive.

Jared, did you ever reproduce this when you reopened? I guess we might need to go figure out under what circumstances this does/doesn't reproduce if nothing else... :-\

No I didn't reproduce it when it reopened. I run Ubuntu from a VM, maybe that is the difference?

I can't reproduce this on my Fedora VM either (although it's also possible that dolske's changes as to when the windows are closed/reopened fixes this). I'm going to unassign, because without being able to reproduce this, I don't stand a chance of fixing it. Improved STR would be really great.

I used Ubuntu 14.04 32bit in Virtual Box with Mac OS X 10.8.5 as host and I can reproduce using the steps from comment 0 regularly...
Severity: normal → S3

Closing since this is not reproducible anymore using latest Firefox 123.0 build and Ubuntu 22.04.
