Being a frequent visitor at ebay, on the last few minutes of an auction, the action is incredibly intense. I find myself constantly having to hit the reload key to see if I'm being outbid. See, you drop in a max bid like 7 minutes before the end of auction that's far above the current bid, and then people try to bid you up during that time. It gets fairly intense. This RFE could be fulfilled as easily as setting a timer to automatically (and invisibly) "click" the reload request at a given interval. Choices could be: This feature could fit easily into the Mozilla UI in either of the following locations: 1. A drop-down arrow on the Reload button that offers these features 2. By choosing View --> Auto-Reload Options on either menu could be something like the following: * Refresh every second (broadband recommended) * Refresh every five seconds * Customize Auto-Reload Rate Now, I think this is probably a very simple implementation of "pushing", and perhaps not the only (or best) way to implement it. Certainly it would be better to be able to refresh only that information that has changed, but that's a much more advanced implementation. While we're waiting for that flexibility to be built into Mozilla, this simpler version of the feature, even implemented in the simplest possible form (a full reload of the page, from soup to nuts, every few seconds), would be fantastically useful in the from an auctioning perpspective, or for the stock market and other real-time markets. This could be a big kick for Netbusiness, too. James
Sorry, need to clarify the following block of text, I hadn't finished cleaning it up (sorry): "This RFE could be fulfilled as easily as setting a timer to automatically (and invisibly) "click" the reload request at a given interval, and could fit easily into the Mozilla UI in either of the following locations: * A drop-down arrow on the Reload button that offers menu items * By choosing from an Auto-Reload submenu of the View menu, as in View --> Auto-Reload --> List of Auto-Reload options The list of Auto-Reload options could be something like the following: * Refresh every second (broadband recommended) * Refresh every five seconds * Customize Auto-Reload Rate

testing on this dupe, can't seem to comment on another bug and at least here I'm only spamming myself (I think)
Sorry for the spam, I was wrong (I thought perhaps since no CCs were listed I would be alone in receiving my comment). However, I still cannot post a simple comment to the bug this one dupes, bug 68944. I've e-mailed Dawn Endico about it, so we'll see what happens, but for the record I get the following software error when trying to comment only (just as I did with this bug): Software error: INSERT INTO keywords (bug_id, keywordid) VALUES (68944, 19): Duplicate entry '68944-19' for key 2 at globals.pl line 214.
