Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.open moz mail 2.view a message 3.look at address book Actual Results: still no saved addresses Expected Results: saved my addresses. at least one!
Reporter: You build is really old. Please try a more recent build: http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla/nightly/latest/mozilla-i686-pc-linux-gnu-sea.tar.gz (as always, be sure to delete your old Mozilla directory before installing the new one)
I have experienced the same thing with a slight difference. My "collected addresses" address book was working fine. Yesterday while Mozilla was open my PC crashed. Today there are no addresses in my "collected addresses" and the collection process no longer works.
reporter, is this still a problem with recent nightlies or 0.9.9 and is it being caused by a crash like Martin said?
Perhaps this should be renamed the ghost bug. I experienced the strange situation where the collected addresses appeared. I was about to report that the bug went away. However, I entered the collected address folder again and !poof! the addresses that I had just seen were gone. I have tried to see them again by bringing down x and restarting and by rebooting but with no luck. I suspect an indexing problem: perhaps the address collection is ok but the index is not pointing to them for the view. ... Just guessing.

To clarify: in the address book there is no "collected addresses" entry any more, only my LDAP entry. Prefs Addressing does have collection enabled. This was working with yesterday's build.
Using 1.0 RC3 under Windows ME I just experienced this problem. I have sent 3 messages this morning and no addresses were collected even though that box is checked in my preferences.
