RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1073415

People

(Reporter: msander, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_9_5) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/38.0.2125.101 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce:

1. Generate a link
2. Open the link in IE 8-11

Actual results:

The call cannot connect. There is an error in the console.

Object doesn't support this action:

File: l10n-gaia-02ca67948fe8.js, Line: 1697, Column: 5

Expected results:

If the OpenTok IE Plugin is not installed it should prompt the user to install it. After installation the user should refresh the page and be able to connect.

If the plugin is already installed it should connect.

This is already covered by bug 1073415. With it, we'll display the browser is unsupported.

I believe the version of the SDK we have been given, explicitly disabled the download of the plugin option, due to still being under test. However, I can't find any references to where I was given that info, so I could be wrong.

Given we don't have a bug on it at the moment, but I believe we do intend to support this, I'm morphing this bug into generally providing support for internet explorer, as there may be more that we have to do (with respect to ux/l10n) than just updating the sdk.
Status: UNCONFIRMED → NEW
Ever confirmed: true
Summary: IE plugin can't load link clicker page → Enable standalone / link clicker support in Loop for Internet Explorer
The current SDK version you are using will support the IE plugin download. Once bug 1073415 is fixed it will probably just work as expected.
have a bug to get this working - trying to do and uplift into Fx34 (really late)
