My update to an existing earlybird install failed, so I downloaded one from https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/channel.

OS/X then complained that the signature isn't correct, and I disabled that pref.

Now I can start to launch it, but nothing happens, immediately shuts down.

Yeah, we missed the aurora deadline. There are still several patches that need to be uplifted, hopefully we can make that happen soon.

As the signature goes, supposedly that should work after we uplift, but I can't be certain until I gain a means to test it.
I can test a nightly build if that helps.

Also, should updates be pulled until we verify that the builds are working?
Well, the builds should work in the next version, so if we want to temporarily disable updates, then fine, but I don't think it's as urgent as if this was beta. I just need to land the patches and we need to update aurora.

Also, the problem with testing codesigning is that you have to have never opened the application before, otherwise it gets added to an "approved" list. Now you will have to a fresh OS install to test again. I really need to get a Mac VM set up to test with.
