Chrome has this and it is handy.

seems to call into

which does the bulk of the work.

https://github.com/barneygale/iso9660 can also probably be used instead of 7z for extracting files from the iso

There's some proof-of-concept code in the duplicated bug where I go a step better: VBScript to download and install Python and then use Python for everything else. You can literally click a URL in IE to start the bootstrap on a fresh Windows install :)

Code will likely stay dormant until someone scratches an itch.
