Details

Neither the channel nor the update url are used. Not sure yet if the bug is on the gaia side or in b2g/.../settings.js

Yes, I worked on this. Apparently it doesn't work for some people, but I'm not sure why. I suspect that some people use the only-for-tests pref app.update.url.override, hence my patches in the other bug.
