sure.  this bug is part of the subscribe bug, as we use the hostinfo.dat to
store the list of newsgroups.  2 days is fine.

this feature is part of subscribe, which is slowly getting whipped into shape.

this just checked in:

if hostinfo.dat exists, we'll use it to populate the subscribe dialog, instead 
of talking to the server.

up next:  build the hostinfo.dat when we talk to the server on refresh, or first 
time.

the hard parts of hostinfo.dat support is in an working.

1)  it is the same format as hostinfo.dat from 4.x
2)  we can read in the 4.x hostinfo.dat, so if the user migrates, we'll use 
there hostinfo.dat
3)  with news subscribe, if we have hostinfo.dat, we use it populate the 
subscrbe dialog, unless the user hits "refresh"
4)  if we get the list of newsgroups from the server, we will write them out to 
hostinfo.dat
 
that said, there are some bugs that need to be fixed.  but the "feature" work is 
done.  I'll go log those bugs so QA knows what they are.

Verified on all the platforms:
WinNT 06-21-09-M17 commercial build
Linux 06-21-08-M17 commercial build
Mac 06-21-08-M17 commercial build
After subscribe some newsgroups on 4.7 and hostinfo.dat file created on 4.7 for
all the platforms.
Migrated to 6.0 and 6.0 used it populate the subscrbe dialog already.
Marking as verified.
