I did not cause this, and specifically checked that I didn't before I landed.
It has been around since evaughan's grid landing. I did, however, come up with
a fix, see bug 107639.

my apologies to blake, it was evaughan's grid changes.
removing the grid usage from that xul fixes the problem.
