This might finally fix the constant crashes we see with ipmitool on centos. I presume you can grab the RPM and apply it to our centos systems, too. Red Hat Network has determined that the following advisory is applicable to one or more of the systems you have registered: Complete information about this errata can be found at the following location: https://rhn.redhat.com/rhn/errata/details/Details.do?eid=28391 Bug Fix Advisory - RHBA-2014:1624-1 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Summary: ipmitool bug fix update Updated ipmitool packages that fix one bug are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6. Description: The ipmitool packages contain a command line utility for interfacing with devices that support the Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) specification. IPMI is an open standard for machine health, inventory, and remote power control. This update fixes the following bug: * Previously, the ipmitool default timeout values signified a time period which was too short. As a consequence, during retries, the ipmitool utility could terminate unexpectedly with a segmentation fault, or could produce a nonsensical error message. With this update, the ipmitool options passed from environment variable are parsed correctly from IPMITOOL_OPTS and IPMI_OPTS variables, IPMITOOL_* taking precedence over IPMI_* variables. As a result, ipmitool no longer crashes in the described situation. (BZ#1147593) Users of ipmitool are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix this bug. After installing this update, the IPMI event daemon (ipmievd) will be restarted automatically.

The upgrade fails due to libcrypto dependencies on CentOS-6.2.
