Prior to bug 1080250 being deployed, there were some jobs ingested with the new buildernames, which treeherder didn't yet support. eg:
https://treeherder.mozilla.org/ui/#/jobs?repo=date&revision=0c480befd4ea

These display in the treeherder UI on the rows:
"Windows 8 64-bit date de debug"
"Windows 8 64-bit date op opt"

Whilst in one sense this label is more useful than "Other" - I think it masks the fact that the platform is unknown to treeherder. This will mean people making changes to buildbot configs won't know that they need to file a bug for the treeherder change.

I think we should go back to TBPL's behaviour of displaying them on a row called "Other", eg:
https://hg.mozilla.org/webtools/tbpl/file/fab53bff3383/js/Data.js#l784

This caused confusion on IRC today.

Wontfix since bug 1458560 would make this redundant.
