We should add functionality for the user to drag icons into a collapsed group in edit mode. Suggested behavior: 1. Long press app to enter edit mode. 2. Drag app from expanded group and hover over collapsed group. 3. Collapsed group expands under the hovering app and the user can place the app icon within the new expanded group. 4. User drops icon to confirm placement. 5. Group stays expanded (not sure about this one).
Though the behaviour isn't exactly as specified here, this functionality exists (as of very recently). The group doesn't expand though, it just allows you to drop onto a collapsed group (I think the collapsed group's background colour changes to indicate it's a valid drop target).
