I'd like to see a Song Message Music app Share activity.

Basically, this would get around the fact that 99.99% of all user's songs will be too large to send via MMS.

Instead of attempting to send the audio file and failing, the Song Message should instead be this:

MMS Title: Song Title - Song Artist
MMS Body: Album Art of Song
MMS Body (Line 2): Album of Song - Year of Album

If you want to get really crafty, perhaps a hyperlink to an online music provider could be inserted below the Line 2 of the Body, but that presents tons of difficulties (what store to promote, what store has the content, etc). I think we can safely leave that up to the recipient.

Moving this to the SMS component. This is more of an SMS-specific issue, since it'd be up to the SMS app to decide what to do with *any* big file.

It looks like Brett's real ask here is to be able to share songs via the share activity. It appears that it's failing b/c the file is too big. Is there anything we can do to allow the user to succeed here (e.g compress or zip)?

Audio files are already compressed (except for WAV files). We can't really make them any smaller.

I suppose we could recompress them with less fidelity (eg: reduce the sampling frequency and the bitrate). But I don't think this was the initial request.

Brett - what is the primary task you are trying to achieve? Are you wanting to:
a) send the song file to another device to live there until deleted (computer, tablet, or phone)
b) provide song information (e.g. title, artist) to another person so they have that knowledge 
c) some other task that we've completely missed :)

a) I only want the song to send as an attachment to the MMS IF it meets the MMS file size limitations on the receiving carrier.

So, if the song can fit in the MMS file transfer size of the recipient, then send the Song Message with the audio file attached.

If the audio file is too large, then send the Song Message with just the metadata attached and possibly a link to an affiliated storefront (if possible).

I suppose that once Cloud file support is baked/mainlined into FFXOS, we could push the files to a temporary cloud storage provider, but I believe that would have to be a new bug entirely.
