It seems like we just can't please everyone when it comes to the tabbrowser X 
icon.  The solution, of course, is a pref with UI.

I recommend:

Notes:

* the image-to-use pref does not have to be implemented to close this bug
* we may not want to refer to "the 'X' button" since we expect many users to 
change the image, and the new one may not be in the form of an X.
* some people don't think users will understand what a '<tabbrowser>' is but I 
think xul is widespread enough to use the term.

One pref for the X is too many... but THAT monostrosity...

Bug 108938 has a attachment of what X on the tab would look like...looks pretty
nice to me. We need to pick one, eaither no X, X on the tab (definatly the
easiest to pick up), or a global X. There's already accel-W to close tabs, so
this doesn't need to be configurable.
OS: Windows 2000 → All
Hardware: PC → All
Sorry, but there are at least 3 people who want each choice in the pref, so we
need it.

Sorry, it's just I've seen similarly bad UI suggestions that unfortunatly
weren't/aren't jokes
