For example, tap the Grid Lines menu, it open a submenu and needs select the On or Off and ok. They seem can toggle option directly, and show a reaction, saves the steps.
The extra step has always felt superfluous to me, but over to UX.

This was designed so that the menu behaves consistently amongst the options - the Self-Timer goes to a sub-menu because there are many options. In partner cameras, there are more options in the menu which also require a sub-menu (e.g. resolution). Additionally, since we auto-close after selecting an option, it helps prevent accidental taps and setting changes. If the user accidentally taps on grid lines, they can still back out to the main menu. I.e. consistent pattern usage and accidental setting change prevention. Enjoy!
