Attached file screenshot2.lang
Hi Flod, It took me a while to go through the screens. A lot of the English screens can't be used as they are. After checking with various parties, I can't get a straight answer who finalizes English sets. The look and feel are finalized, but the faked settings have spelling errors (not the fake language). I did my best to provide instructions. I know you have tons of things to do. I would like to commit the file myself. Teach me how so I can coordinate the localized versions onward. Thanks, Peiying

Adding the file to the system involves a lot of small changes, so it's not something that I can easily teach you. Some questions. 1) Can we push this after November 10? We're already burning out our localizers on Anniversary content, this is not a good time to generate new work. 2) For which locales? 3) Should I replace existing files, or keep them and add this one as new? 4) No access to the linked file on box.com https://mozilla.app.box.com/files/0/f/2606100649
1). This is for locales related to the South Africa project. 2). For now, af, xh, zu. 3). Sent you the invite (gmail) - the system says you have access. I can wait until post Nov 10th to learn the steps.
Ah, ok then. For those 3 locales there's no need to wait after November 10, I thought it involved the usual suspects (fr, de, es-ES, pt.BR, etc.) Unfortunately they're used to work on Pootle, which means you'll need to file bugs and ask them to attach the localized files. I'll set up the files later this week.
.lang file definitely looks good, I only had to fix a few strings. And you're right, it's huge :-\ It's almost double of the first screenshot project https://l10n.mozilla-community.org/~pascalc/langchecker/?action=listpages&website=9 Status page https://l10n.mozilla-community.org/~pascalc/langchecker/?locale=all&website=9&file=screenshots_2_0.lang Files are in the usual place https://svn.mozilla.org/projects/l10n-misc/trunk/firefoxos-marketing/
Thank you Flod for the quick turnaround.
Hi Devon, I am assigning the bug to you since Eva doesn't have an account in bugzilla. Please go to this location to download the file for each of the languages: https://l10n.mozilla-community.org/~pascalc/langchecker/?locale=all&website=9&file=screenshots_2_0.lang Reference source material in English: https://mozilla.app.box.com/files/0/f/2606100649/Template. Right now Eva and Ian have access. Let me know if more people need to access the folder. Once localization is complete, please attach the files to the bug, clearly indicating which language is which. Thanks, Peiying

Summary: [Marketing][Screenshot] file setup for 2.0 → [Marketing][Screenshot][South Africa] translation needed for 2.0
Hi Peiying, I will use the link to download the file for each language. Regarding the reference source material in English; could you also add me to the collaborated folder on Box? We will be sure to attach the files to the bug with the appropriate language indicator. Thanks, Devon
Done! Let me know if the instructions are clear. We can modify it as we go. The strings to be translated should remain the same.
Attached file screenshots_2_0.lang_af (obsolete) —
Hi Peiying, We are making good progress with the translation of the final set of files. I have attached the translation for Afrikaans and should have the next set coming your way by Monday. Regards, Devon
Thanks, file committed in r134443. Also fixed the typo ("or ender" -> "or enter"). There are currently a few strings identical to English. Is that OK? Alarm cc bcc Video Bluetooth Volume Media
Hi Flod, The above strings are identical to English and are pronounced differently for Afrikaans with the exception of "Bluetooth". There is no translation for the latter in Afrikaans. Thanks, Devon
Great, thanks. You can add "{ok}" at the end of the "translated" string to tell the system that's correct as it is. I'll fix the file already committed.
Hi Flod, This is done. I have also added {ok} at the end of "Week". Should I attach the updated af file to the bug?
No need, already fixed in r134668.
Ok, thanks Flod.
Attached file screenshots_2_0.lang_xh (obsolete) —
Hi Flod, I have attached the translation for Xhosa and should have the file for Zulu completed and uploaded tomorrow. Regards, Devon
Thanks, committed in r134691.
Thanks Devon for finishing up Zulu Tannie, let's hold the production side for a bit. We are pending a final review of the current English set. I hope they don't have much l10n impact. The placeholder messages need an update. We are working on that right now. Devon, if there are any changes to be made, you will see the delta in .lang, and I will share it here as well.
Attached file screenshots_2_0.lang_zu (obsolete) —
Hi Peiying, Attached please find the Zulu translation. We will implement any changes to the af, xh and zu files once you have received the updated EN file. Thank you, Devon
Committed in r134840.
Hi Tannie, You can see the localized files here. Please start working on the South African languages (af, xh, zu). If Japanese is completed with localization, we need to switch to that as it has higher priority. https://l10n.mozilla-community.org/~pascalc/langchecker/?locale=all&website=9&file=screenshots_2_0.lang. These strings were localized before Matej made his comment/update. For the most part they have very little impact. We may need a few more strings localized as you go through the list. We will update the lang files accordingly. Thank you, Peiying

AF screens for review: https://mozilla.box.com/s/9o0cmmrl7uq3laapkecg --- Strings to revise: AF --- 05-Calendar_Event_details-AF ;Event Details Besonderhede van gebeurtenis (too long) 11-Contact_List-AF For the contact list, I need: - Three 'A' surnames (i.e. Tom Ableton, Jessica Ashford, Matt Arnet) - Two 'B' surnames - One 'C' surname - 4 males, 2 females 27-Messaging_Conversation-AF Need relevant subject line. Also need messages revised to three lines length (about 70 characters). Finally, need a one-word reply for the final message. 28-Messaging_List-AF Need string for 'TODAY' 29-Music_Grid Since most of the album covers have text, perhaps we should leave the Artist/Album title as is. Thanks!

Hi Tannie, For missing product strings, you can check here: http://transvision.mozfr.org/?recherche=Today&repo=gaia_2_0&sourcelocale=en-US&locale=af&search_type=strings. As for names, can we be a bit more flexible with which letters as the initial letters as long as they are consecutive? This is always the most challenging ones. For some languages, certain letters may not be as common. On messages, I advised localizers not to stick to English content, as some of them (the legitimate messages simply don't make any sense for some cultures. Team building meeting is one of them. So if there is enough space, let's use whatever is provided and make them shorter for subject lines, etc.
One more thing, let's use stock images for the Africa market.
Sure thing! And for the names, I mean to say that they should be in pairs or three at a time per letter. 3 'Q', 3 'R', 3 'S' for example. This way we can have only two or three letter groups in the list.
The reason I persist on the contacts being uniform is that it takes considerably extra time to create a new contact list and re-match photos - and the inconsistency creates for bad design (see attached). If instead we can provide a consistent order of names like the original (https://mozilla.box.com/s/tlwashamj5bak3583pkn) it take care of those concerns. So the letters of course don't have to be directly consecutive (A > B > C), but if we could have a group of three, group of two, and the one trailing letter it would make the preparation of these screenshots go much faster. I know we've all been trying for a while to communicate this idea via text, I hope this helps get us closer!

Hi Devon, Could you and team take a look of the photos here to see if they are relevant to the Africa market for screenshots and other marketing/PR campaign. Thanks, Peiying
Photos here: http://www.gettyimages.com/collaboration/boards/9d4GIJBj10almx80bNQbhg?invitation_code=Sc4ZdnJUw0ifstyS_TDlZA I chose these to supplement the South Africa screenshots - I'm not sure how well they'd apply to Northern Africa.

Hi Peiying / Tannie, I have attached the updated .lang files for Af and Zu. I have also attached word documents with comments for your attention. Kindly update the screenshots as per suggestions. The photos in http://www.gettyimages.com/collaboration/boards/9d4GIJBj10almx80bNQbhg?invitation_code=Sc4ZdnJUw0ifstyS_TDlZA are relevant to the African market, except for Afrikaans where you can continue to use the images as per the EN screenshots. Thank you, Devon
Hi Tannie, Any update per latest comments? For the images, I think we can mix it up a bit to make it apply to all markets. If we can avoid having too many versions of English, we should do that.
Your comments are great Devon - I'll be able to start revising these screens in a few hours and have something for you to review by tomorrow morning.
Peiying, Could Mozilla purchase these photos from Getty for me to insert? Their final cost will be pretty considerable, and there are many variables when calculating price. I think it would be easier if the company purchased then sent over for use.
Tannie, let me get back to you on this. I think it comes out of creative or marketing budget.
I had a look at the Afrikaans screenshots Peiying Mo sent me. If I check correctly, they date from 8 December. I'm writing on some impressions, which I hope are useful, as well as some things that would need to be checked with device l10n and QA before we can execute on them. Sorry for having it mixed, but hopefully everybody involved can sort it out more easily if everything is here. I tried not to duplicate things previously mentioned by Devon, but forgive me if I duplicate some. I tried to give suggestions in a few places, but in many cases it might require changes here and with Gaia (the Firefox OS UI). Here are my comments so far: - The time format should be the 24 hour format with leading zero, in other words 09:00, 16:20, etc. We should review the device l10n for this aspect as well (multiple slides, usually in the top right, but also in content on for example no. 03, 04, 05, 07, 09, 16, 27, 28). Note that the correct format will also help with the alignment problem of the three times shown on 07 and 08 (the colons should be aligned). Note how the time on 05 is a mix of 12 and 24 hour time. - The long date format should be without the comma it currently has. For example on 03, we currently have "Dinsdag, 1 Nov" which should be Dinsdag 1 Nov." We should review the device l10n for this aspect as well. The short date format on 04 is problematic, so until we review the device UX, let's change it to 18/12/2014 (DD/MM/YYY). This one is difficult because of the different order between the short format and long format in Afrikaans might create a confusing effect in the UX. The current (US) format (MM/DD/YYYY) is unacceptable for the South African market, however. - The file size format should be as follows (seen on 12, 17, 35): - The sizes units are untranslated (not in the .lang file). Should be GB->GG, MB->MG, KB->kG (KG is acceptable), B->G. Need to check for consistency with device l10n. - The fractional kilobytes should use a comma, i.e. "643,49 kG" or "0,14 MG" - We need to check with device l10n - I think I saw some untranslated ones there. -- On 04: - The calendar name (John Smith) and attendee name (Rebecca Bonine) seem unusual - they don't seem to be in the .lang file. Did I miss it? - "Heeldag gebeurtenis " is misspelt. We have to review along with device QA. We shouldreword to avoid a long compound, so let's just keep this one in mind. -- on 05: - The heading "Besonderhede van gebeurtenis" or the newer "Gebeuredetails" is not consistent with the current UI translation ("Gebeurtenis"). Need to synchronise with device l10n. It might be because I created the event instead of receiving it. If so, I apologise for the noise. - I assume the original English "All time of event" is a typo which should be "At time of event". The translation equally makes no sense, including the current one for 2.0 in Mercurial. I'd prefer to review the wording of all reminder times, though, so let's hold off on this. The "xx minute voor" doesn't work elsewhere in the UI. Will need to check and review with localiser, but should probably be something like "xx minute vooraf" - "10 minutes before" (from the English .lang file) is not a choice on my copy of Gaia 2.0. It seems a bit unfortunate to show something not possible in the real UI. Should this maybe be reviewed? - "Herinnering" is not the current UI translation ("Onthounotas"), but is better - need to synchronise with device l10n) -- on 07 and 08: - The abbreviated day names are not the standard ones. The current .lang file in SVN seem to be correct. I'd like to review with device QA on whether we want full stops for those abbreviations. - "Alarm" is the default alarm name in the current UI translations, but might need to be reconsidered, since the new alarm screen never uses that term but "wekker" instead. Consistency should be achieved in some direction or another between the two screens (device l10n), and then checked for consistency here. - "Tydhouer" is not the current term in the UI translation ("Afteller") -- on 12: The amount of data are unusual between mobile/contract/3g (top amount) and Wi-Fi (lower amount). I would switch the amount of data so that Wi-Fi is more. I guess Wi-Fi (if available) would be much cheaper for most people, so would be a more realistic one to have on the scale of hundreds of megabytes. -- on 15: - The keyboard layout does not appear like the one I have on my copy of Gaia 2.0. The bottom row is completely different. I assume we want to sync that with the current Gaia 2.0? It is a nice opportunity to score some points with the attentive reader, as I'm working on text input, and it will probably show "Afr." left of space bar (instead of the globe) to indicate that it has support for Afrikaans text input. -- on 17: - The filename is a bit unfortunate. It might be the default name given by the Camera app, but if not, we can consider giving it an Afrikaans name. Not sure what was intended to be attached, but maybe an invitation? In that case "uitnodiging.png"? - The CC address kayksun@... looks quite weird. I would suggest that we use something more local sounding. Maybe "marievdwalt3@gmail.com" or similar. -- on 18: - The dialer is named "Foon" here but "Beller" on 22 and 23. It looks like an inconsistency in the source text, since both are in the .lang file? -- on 22 and 23: - The icons are not in the same order as on my copy of Gaia 2.0. I see Phone/Dialer, Messages, Contacts, Browser, Marketplace, Camera. The ones at the bottem of 23 also don't match, but I'm not sure if it matters much. - Devon mentioned that the search hint (top of the screen) is not consistent between the two screens, but it is also not consistent with UI l10n. I think "Soek of tik adres" is preferable, or even "Tik adres of soek", but we need to synchronise between the screens and the UI l10n. - There is an extra icon in 23 not in 22 (Showbiz showing "IMDb"). Not sure if this is intended. - Showbiz is "Verhoogkuns" on the screenshots and "Lewende vermaak" in the current .lang file. Both are a bit of a bad match with an icon that shows "IMDb" which is mostly about movies, not live entertainment. Maybe the source text is also not ideal here, not sure. "Lewende vermaak" will probably be too long, I guess. -- on 24: - "Klok" the current translation for "Clock" and needs to be reviewed with device l10n and synchronised. The word choice might have been because of length, but I don't know. -- on 24 and 25: - Devon already mentioned that the network name is not South African, but from Peying Mo I understand that we have to keep this network neutral. Can I therefore suggest an Afrikaans sounding name: "Selnet" -- on 31: - I would reword "Nuwe SIM ingesteek" as "Nuwe SIM-kaart ingesit". Need to check with device l10n and synchronise here. - Wording of "Tik daarop om jou internetgebruik te volg" should be reviewed with device l10n -- on 32: - The ringtone translations should be synced with UI l10n (at a minimum - I'd prefer a few more changes). The heading is also not consistent with device UI (Classic vs. "Firefox ringtones"). -- on 34: "Luier" is an unfortunate choice of translation for "ringer" as it also means "diaper". I see the .lang file was changed to "Foonlui", which I think is much better. Device l10n still has "Luier" which is a big blooper! Smaller issues, probably contestable: - The choice of "indaba" (a Zulu word) is strange while we're trying target the Afrikaans market. May I suggest any of "bosberaad", "werkswinkel" or "vergadering"? - The business names are all English. Is that a concious choice, or can we consider adding at least some more Afrikaans sounding ones? - The workshop name "Kreatiewe Idees-werkswinkel" is long and slightly awkward. We can keep it, but something shorter/simpler might work better. - The created ringtones on 32 are all named in English. Is this on purpose? - Most of the song names are English. Is this on purpose? - The network name on 33 is quite technical ("SSID"). Maybe something more personal can work better? - The snow picture on 35 is a nice picture, but few people in South Africa experience snow. It would be a noteworthy picture to take if it happened, but feels a bit "imported". A dog shaking water off (for example) might feel more local (to keep with the dog theme). - Three of the four thumbnails on 02 shows untranslated pages on mozilla.org. They are nice and diverse, but maybe we can make a selection that is translated? Can I recommend - https://mozilla.org/af/ - https://www.mozilla.org/af/mission/ or https://www.mozilla.org/af/about/ - a page from the addons website, e.g. https://addons.mozilla.org/af/firefox/addon/afrikaans-spell-checker/ or the front page https://addons.mozilla.org/af/ Not related to l10n: - Between 01 and 02 the tab label ("3>") is not positioned consistently. It probably won't be viewed in sequence in one position as I have it on my screen here, but I thought I'll mention it. - 05 shows 5 reminders - maybe a bit excessive? They are also in an unusual order (minutes before, day before, hours before, hour before, at the time of the event). The Gaia UI allows this to be created, but maybe it can be sorted in increasing/decreasing time until the event?
Thanks Friedel, these comments are extremely helpful! I'll begin adding them to my current revisions - I haven't uploaded a new set for review in a while since I'm still waiting for all final copy revisions. Thanks again for this!
(In reply to Tannie Low from comment #43) > Peiying, > > Could Mozilla purchase these photos from Getty for me to insert? Their final > cost will be pretty considerable, and there are many variables when > calculating price. I think it would be easier if the company purchased then > sent over for use. I can help with that, but I think we're going to need all royalty-free stuff for this. Could you find replacements for the rights-managed images you selected? Thanks.
Hi Peiying, We had our current Afrikaans linguist have a look at Friedel's comments re the Afrikaans Marketing screenshots. Please find his feedback attached. The original Afrikaans translator is no longer part of our project team. Unfortunately, our current linguist was not available for this project at that time, but we will use him from now on. We asked him to give us his opinion to Friedel's feedback and for most parts he agrees with Friedel's comments. Further details can be taken from the attachment. Regards, Eva
Because of bug 982124, Gaia 2.0 (and maybe some later versions) won't have the correct decimal separator. This is pretty frustrating, but if I understand things correctly has no chance of being fixed for 2.0. If we want the screenshots consistent with the UI, we'll need to use the point as decimal separator, like the English (unlike what I recommended in comment 45). A part of me actually wants to at least do the marketing stuff right if the software can't be right...
Hi Friedel, Let us know if the UI fixes are done, and some of the corrections would impact how the screenshots turn out. Right now there are so many comments, it's hard for the graphic artist to know how to proceed. Could you take look and provide feedback in comment #49? Once you and Rubric can agree on what's final, then we can update the .lang file - which is the file Tannie goes by when he makes the screenshots. I think he quickly realizes that there are so many comments, it is challenging to for him to follow the bug to know what to change. Thank you, Peiying
(In reply to Peiying Mo [:CocoMo] from comment #51) Hello Peiying I'm the Afrikaans translator for this project. I agree that there have been many comments and counter-comments, and I can understand that it must be difficult to know what is required to be changed. Therefore: If I can get my hands on the latest set of screenshots, I can go through them once more and create a simple, unambiguous "change X into Y" type of report on what exactly needs to be changed (which I can run by Friedel quickly, if he's available), that the DTP person can implement. Samuel
Samuel, here is a link to the English template: https://mozilla.box.com/s/047lmgwl4hwf9ucxwpp0lxqe59ngf1i1 It'd be much easier to start from the beginning (instead of suggesting individual changes). That would involve working string by string to complete this text file: https://svn.mozilla.org/projects/l10n-misc/trunk/firefoxos-marketing/af/screenshots_2_0.lang The file has several notes, one of the most important being that you should localize (as opposed to just translate) some screens. Let me know if you have any questions!
Hi Tannie What credentials are required for the box.com website, and what is the affiliation with Mozilla? It seems to want the Mozilla LDAP-credentials, but I assume I shouldn't be providing that outside of Mozilla. Please confirm. Samuel, Tannie: I can see that complete rework might be easier. It is important that we don't translate the GUI parts: these should be consistent with the current UI translations. I guess the comments above can be taken into account, even if rework is being done.
Just invited 'friedel@translate.org.za' to the Box site so you shouldn't have to do that.
Hello Franscoise/Devon, The updated strings can be found here: https://l10n.mozilla-community.org/~pascalc/langchecker/?locale=all&website=9&file=screenshots_2_0.lang. Please translate the new strings for all. As discussed in previous communication, we will work on Xhosa and Zulu while waiting for Afrikaans to be reviewed by Friedel and Samuel. Thank you, Peiying

This doesn't work, there are too many differences with the files currently on SVN, including removing some of the new strings. Can you please start from these files, and change/add only the strings that you need? http://svn.mozilla.org/projects/l10n-misc/trunk/firefoxos-marketing/ The missing strings are reported in the dashboard https://l10n.mozilla-community.org/~pascalc/langchecker/?locale=xh#screenshots_2_0.lang
(In reply to Devon from comment #58) > We have updated the Afrikaans LANG file with the added strings and confirmed > with Samuel and Friedel that all the references to the GUI are consistent > with the translations in Pootle. I have so far only received the file. I'll try to have a proper look at it a bit later. Thanks!
I quickly checked the Afrikaans file emailed to me (I assume it is the same as uploaded here). And I checked the English screenshots on box. Some comments, both about the source text and the translation: Source text: There seems to be number of inconsistencies with the GUI in Gaia 2.0. I'm not sure if this is intentional and exactly how we should handle such cases. For example: - 04 There are headings that I don't see (Attendees, Calendar - maybe because I only have one) - 05 the reminder text doesn't correspond with the GUI - (only in .lang file) "All time of event" is still wrong - 10. The screenshot has "Remove from favorites" but the GUI has "Remove as Favorite". Which should be we translating? - 15. The keyboard layout doesn't correspond with what I see on my device (the translation strings are not there, and instead of the globe it should show "Afr." indicating the Afrikaans keyboard layout. - 16. The capitalisation of "Just now" doesn't correspond with device strings (so the translation is now also inconsistent). - 26: strings differ from gaia strings. - 27: I don't think an equivalent of "Coming over?" is in the source text? - 31: "Classics" doesn't exist in my GUI - 37+38 is not in the .lang file Target text: All the business names are still English. Is that intentional? - 15 "Onderwerp: Werkswinkel oor kreatiewe idees" - too long - 17 "[fake message that corresponds to the subject]". The translated message is much shorter than the English. Not sure if it is a problem - "Vodatel" I think this looks too close to one of the big network names - will this keep our launch partner happy? I changed 24 "Carrier" to this, since this is what is shown on the lock screen (the network name). - Does the order of the fake messages on screen 27 make sense? (it doesn't make sense to me - cancelling a meeting and then discussing where it will be). - 29 "Loslappie" - a well known song. Aren't we supposed to make up non-existing names? - 32 fake song titles are all in English. Intentional? - 34 "Foonlui" - GUI currently uses "Beller". I think "Foonlui" might be better, but it might be too late. Comments?

This is the Afrikaans (af) file with the changes I made, mostly by just looking up the existing translations in Pootle, both for Firefox OS 2.0 as well as the Mozilla website. I didn't review again, so please do so and feel free to comment on any complete unacceptabilities.

Looks like a lot needs to be resolved on the product side. Tannie, the submitted text files seems to have conflict with the files existing files. While waiting for that to get sort out, you may be able to start working Xhosa and Zulu ones. The comments made by Friedel are global though, so we have to wait for further confirmation getting a good English set.
No problem. I feel like someone should just ship me a phone, or jump on a Google Hangout with me, and we can knock out these final UI changes! Let me know what you wanna do. Thanks!
(In reply to Tannie Low from comment #66) > No problem. I feel like someone should just ship me a phone, or jump on a > Google Hangout with me, and we can knock out these final UI changes! Let me > know what you wanna do. Thanks! If you're running Firefox, you can go to Tools > Web Developer > WebIDE and then click the Select Runtime dropdown menu in the top right of the window that opens. From there you'll be able to install a Firefox OS 2.0 simulator that you can run on your desktop. We should also definitely get you a phone, but this should help in the meantime.

Hi All, Attached please find the updated Afrikaans LANG file with Samuel's comments below: > - All the business names are still English. Is that intentional? Yes, it seems more natural. > - 15 "Onderwerp: Werkswinkel oor kreatiewe idees" - too long Users are aware that the text is sometimes too long, they would expect to see it. > - 17 "[fake message that corresponds to the subject]". The translated message is much shorter than the English. Not sure if it is a problem Not sure either. > - "Vodatel" I think this looks too close to one of the big network names - will this keep our launch partner happy? I changed 24 "Carrier" to this, since this is what is shown on the lock screen (the network name). It's close to "Vodacom" and "Vodafone", yes. I don't think it'll be a problem. > - Does the order of the fake messages on screen 27 make sense? (it doesn't make sense to me - cancelling a meeting and then discussing where it will be). UPDATED > - 29 "Loslappie" - a well known song. Aren't we supposed to make up non-existing names? UPDATED > - 32 fake song titles are all in English. Intentional? Yes, it seems more natural. > - 34 "Foonlui" - GUI currently uses "Beller". I think "Foonlui" might be better, but it might be too late. Comments? I'll add it to my little TM. The updated XH and ZU lang files will follow on Monday. Thanks, Devon
Note that additional comments will be lost when I update the files, there are still some strings that you remove from the original file (you shouldn't be touching the reference string starting with ;) Subject: [made up subject] RE: Road trip next weekend?/Great finds! I’ll definitely check with everyone We’re Moving!/Hello Friends! Join us on Saturday for a fun and I don't really understand the note about "Calendar" not being in the GUI.
Matej - Just installed the 2.0 Simulator. This will be very helpful, so awesome. Flod/Devon/Peiying - We can actually remove 'Screen 1 (Browser)' from the lang template, as I'll just be taking a screenshot of the respective languages Firefox site (https://www.mozilla.org/af/firefox/desktop/). Since we have most of the strings ready I'll begin placing them into the screenshots, but please let me know once you have a final lang file ready for each language. Thank you for all the hard work!!

Updated in r139331.
Afrikaans screenshots ready for review by localizers: https://mozilla.box.com/s/9o0cmmrl7uq3laapkecg Please ignore all images at this point. They will be updated later this week. Also, we have intentionally skipped some screens. Thanks!!
(In reply to Devon from comment #74) > Created attachment 8578692 [details] > screenshots_2_0.lang_zu > > Hi All, > > Attached please find the updated zu file. We will redeliver the xh version > as soon as our xh translator completes the final review. Hi Devon, I did a drive by review and I wanted to flag a few items that I think need review: In Zulu. The entries for Month, Week and Day. My back translation is January, Week, On Tuesday. It is the screenshot of the calendaring app. The strings are for links that take you to the month view, the week view or the day view. My language knowledge here might be faulty though. Is titlecase part of the Zulu styleguide, if it isn't then there are few string that are forcing titlecase based on the English strings. Another is "Ama-Created Ringtones". "Ringtones" are translated a few strings higher.
Hi All, I have attached an updated AF lang file. The screenshots are also being reviewed by Friedel since delivery. In the meantime I have included some comments from our translator: > 01-Browser-AF.png Change "I.T.V" to "vir" Change "die Mees vertroude" to "die mees vertroude" > 13-Dialer_DialPad-AF.png Change "Mobile" to "Selfoon" > 15-Email_Compose-AF.png Do not hyphenate "werkswinkel (currently: "wer-kswinkel") > 21-Gallery_Thumbnails-AF.png Change "February" to "Februarie" > 22-Homescreen_3ColumnLayout-AF.png Change "Search or enter address" to "Soek of voer adres in" > 24-Lockscreen_Normal_201-AF.png Thanks, Devon

Screens 1,13,15,21,22,24 revised for review: https://mozilla.box.com/s/9o0cmmrl7uq3laapkecg I only revised the screens based on the notes from Comment 78. Let me know if there's anything else that changed in the .lang file that wasn't in the comment. For '11-Contact_List-AF', it seems odd that the entries jump from B to M. Would you mind providing me with 3 last names that end in a letter just before M? We should have the localized images purchased sometime this week. Once they're placed into the screens I'll post them for you to review. I'll go ahead and start creating the XH and ZU screens while we wait on those images.

Hello Tannie, For '11-Contact_List-AF', suggestions for last names from our translator are: K Cobus Kok Frans Kellerman L Albert Leroux Thanks, Devon
Flags: needinfo?(devon.bezuidenhout)
Hate to bug you again, but adding a single 'L' entry would interrupt the design. I'd like to keep with the same format as the original screen. Could you provide a set of 3 surnames in the same letter?
K Albert Kloosterman Frans Keller Cobus Kok
Tannie, just take note of the sorting of the surnames - you can use English sorting order. Thanks!
Thanks so much!! I've updated '11-Contact_List-AF' on the Box. Matej should be getting localized images to me this week. I'll then provide a new set of screens with updated images for review. Then I'll use the screens with the new images to create the ZU and XH versions.
Localized images have been applied to screens 06, 10, 11, 18, 20, 21, 22, 35: https://mozilla.box.com/s/9o0cmmrl7uq3laapkecg We will need new strings created for Screen 35. These are only suggestions, but please provide whatever you think is most appropriate: 1. "[child's name] fourth birthday" 2. I believe this string is fine. 3. "Soccer in the city with [local name]" 4. "Beach party with friends" Please review them in context and let me know if any others changes need to be made. Once these images are approved, I will generate the XH and ZU screens provide them for review.

Zulu screens ready for review: https://mozilla.box.com/s/tc2c334qccev6t8j9pnv20qf1wzma9pw Please be aware that I used a device, and the Transvision site to retrieve strings so they may not be the same you provided. Still please check these for spelling and validity. Thanks for the quick turn-around on these!!
Tannie, just a few small things about the Afrikaans: #5 "Room 801" is untranslated. I see the last uploaded .lang file has "Willow Creek", which is a bit better. #23 "FM Radio" should be "FM-radio" #29 "Music" should be "Musiek"
Tannie, another small thing: if you do any further updates for Afrikaans, please try to get the latest Fira font which fixed a few small issues in Afrikaans. It affects the word " 'n " which is somewhat frequent, but won't occur much in the screenshots. It is probably not worth redoing anything, but if it is easy to use for following edits, that would be great. Note that you have to mark the text as Afrikaans, since the feature is enabled by a "locl" feature in the font, and won't show up if your text is marked as English or something else. Details in bug 1121355.
5, 23, and 29 have been revised. Researching the Fira font now!
Xhosa screens ready for review: https://mozilla.box.com/s/r07u2zxwvawghxryqmalr4wk09irk77j For XH and ZU, I had a device in front of me, so some strings were taken directly from there and may differ from the .lang file. Please check for spelling and validity. Thanks!
Hi Tannie, Thank you for delivery of the screenshots. Please find feedback from the af and zu translators respectively: Afrikaans Screen 23 Now has "FM-Radio" but it should have been "FM-radio". Hi Tannie, We are celebrating Easter weekend in South Africa and will be out-of-office from tomorrow until Monday April 6th inclusive. How soon can we expect the updated screenshots for verification? I will be available for another hour so that we can have critical issues reviewed by our translators in time.
I'm making those changes now, but please be aware that the .lang files had provided different strings. I'll have revised PNGs to review within the hour.

Zulu: Screen # 32 Bluetooth -> I-Bluetooth
All screens have been revised. Thanks so much!
You are most welcome Tannie!
Thank you everyone for the hard work, patience and collaboration.
Hi Devon, I know this is probably a very difficult task to do. With so many reiterations and changes mentioned in the bug, can we consolidate them and implement them in each of the .lang file for the three languages. Then we have a record for future update. Only after that we can close the bug. Thank you, Peiying
