2001-11-08-08-trunk linux 2.2 mac 9.1

This is kind of tricky. Basically if you subscribe to a NEW newsgroup,
get all the headers, click on a few of the news mesgs and try
to do a download/sync now: the newsgroup won't really start
downloading until the user clicks on another mesg in that newsgroup
to 'initiate' the download process.

Steps to reproduce:
1.I created a new profile but I saw this with an existing profile.
2.Subscribe to few newsgroups.
3.Click on a newsgroup and get all the mesgs (get msgs button)
4.Click on few of the mesgs.
5.Bring up Download and Sync now window
6.Check Newsgroup and work offline checkboxes
7.Click select button and select the newsgroup you used in step 3 & 4
8.Ok, ok

result: Mesg on bottom frame of messenger says downloading newsgroups
       for offline use. But nothing else happens. I click another newsgrp
       and then come back to original and nothing happens.
       I click on the previous read mesgs and nothing happens.
       I click on a mesg that I have not read and then download process
       starts and works as expected.

expected: once I hit ok in download/sync window, i want the newsgrps
          to start downloading and then go offline.

Adding aditional note. When this bug is fixed, see if comments
in bug 109092 are fixed to.

Gary, could you try this again? With the fixes I checked in yesterday, I don't
see this bug.

This appears to be fixed. No problems downloading a newsgroup
via download/sync menu. It starts right away as soon as I click ok.
Tried newsgroups with headers, brand new newsgroups (and no headers),
and newsgroups that had some mixture of read/unread mesgs.

Also didn't see any problems as it relates to read/unread mesgs
in bug 109092. The counts were accurate.

Will mark as verified when I test mac os x builds.

No problems downloading newsgroups.
It starts right away. No delays.
