Can't download newsgroup articles: stuck in "connected to ...", then nothing

Steps to reproduce:
Just open Thunderbird and click on any newsgroup.
I've also tried completely removing nntp account and deleting "[...]\Profiles\*user*\News" folder.
Actual results:
Display "connected to news.aioe.org" (free nntp server I use), show up "Download Headers" window, I click on "Download", window close and Thunderbird keep displaying "Connected to" in the status...but nothing happen.
Expected results:
Should download newsgroup articles/headers...
