STR:

1. Open a new tab with control-t
2. Type "check it" and press Enter

The URL goes to "about:newtab" and in the body it says

  The address isn't valid

  The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded.

    Web addresses are usually written like http://www.example.com/
    Make sure that you're using forward slashes (i.e. /).
====

This works with e10s disabled or when searching not from the new tab page.
