Currently, there is not a quick/fluid way to return to the desktop of B2G when you're in the multitasking screen.

Tap/Hold in the Card view does nothing, tapping the home button will restore the window, so the only way to get back to the desktop is to restore the window, then do a quick Home tap.

I'd like to see a gesture that will "dismiss" the card down to minimize it, and restore the desktop.

Basically, instead of swiping up to close the card, you swipe down to hide it and bring you back to the desktop instantly. This will save the user two taps and some waiting time, and if it is featured in the FTU intro, will make sense.

The current implementation of the Task Manager is not yet to spec. However, when it is, the experience will be as follows: 
* Activating task switcher from home - From home, long tap the home button to activate. Tap on the home button to return to the home screen.
* Activating task switcher from an app - From an app, long tap the home button to activate. Tap home to return to the previous app. Tap again to return to home.

In short, if you don’t select a card, your exit point is the same way you came into the task switcher. During usability testing, we found that keeping the same way in and out was helpful in terms of learning and memory. 

Swiping up or down is something we’re currently evaluating, but -- based on outcomes of user testing -- we’re considering eliminating the swipe up due to discoverability issues (i.e. most people can't find it, and sometimes can't even remember it's there after being shown by someone else). Marking this a likely WONTFIX based on this.

Please do NOT remove swiping up to dismiss the card. Closing the card with the little X button is incredibly frustrating and not nearly as quick.

We appreciate your opinion and, as I have stated previously, this is an item under consideration. But do please keep in mind that there are many different kinds of users, and that many of them have very different experiences. We must take as many of these into consideration as possible.
