FYI: Using will-change on effected graphics seems to help. Things that animate seem very broken across Gaia. This is not just a camera issue.

We really need a regression range, and version of Gecko that broke this. Just because it's across apps doesn't mean it's Gecko, and usually we'll get better response by starting in the app component instead.

No-Jun, have you seen this in your graphics smoke tests?

(In reply to Milan Sreckovic [:milan] from comment #3) > No-Jun, have you seen this in your graphics smoke tests? My automated tests can't test camera apps since it'll show different images, but when I was doing manual testing, I did see some camera issues while doing manual checks, including this one (there is a bug raised for this but can't seem to find it at the moment) and Bug 1093797. These issues started on Tuesday nightly run if I remember correctly.

To people who are doing the regression range check: This particular issue came from https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1091245, and currently only reproducible in 2.2, and not reproducible in 2.1. STR: open camera, change to video mode, and start recording. Actual: the timer graphic is cropped. Version info: Gaia-Rev 7918024c737c4570cacd784f267e28737ae05dea Gecko-Rev https://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/rev/2114ef80f6ae Build-ID 20141105160209 Version 36.0a1 Device-Name flame FW-Release 4.4.2 FW-Incremental 40 FW-Date Tue Oct 21 15:59:42 CST 2014 Bootloader L1TC10011880

(In reply to Wilson Page [:wilsonpage] from comment #1) > FYI: Using will-change on effected graphics seems to help. Things that > animate seem very broken across Gaia. This is not just a camera issue. Yes, I've noticed this on master recently too. Thinks like full-screen pickers in the Settings app cause a strange flicker near the bottom of the screen (Launch Settings -> Display -> Screen Timeout).

Speaking of flicker, there is this bug, (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1089941) but they have hard time repro'ing it currently. Perhaps they are related?

So... is comment 5 saying this is a regression from bug 1091245? Wilson?

This seems to have resolved itself. I can't see any of the graphics glitches any more.
