Hi-

We've been asked to change the newsletter sign up on the Dev Edition download page from Firefox & You to the Hacks/Apps newsletter.

The existing sign up forms can be seen:
https://marketplace.firefox.com/developers/ (missing en & es language drop down)
https://hacks.mozilla.org/ (shows confirmation message before "clicking sign me up")

This can be done after Nov 10 so let's dig into the specifics then :)

Thx,
Jen

What title/text should we use for this form when changing it to subscribe to the Hacks list?

Matej or Troy?

If we have a different headline for this, it's a new string for l10n.

flod: Should we wrap the entire newsletter block in an l10n string (and disable the form for those locales without the string)?

sgarrity could we have the Firefox & You sign up for locales that have that one? And Hacks for en-US and spanish? :)

Does this just replace "Get Firefox news" on the current page?

If so, maybe it's something equally simple like "Get developer news."

Spanish as in es-*?

If the change is going to be only for one locale, no point in adding a conditional. But it's also not clear what the string change is: from "Get Firefox news" to "Firefox App e Hack"?

We'll need to add the string to all locales, unless we hard-code the string into the template ("Firefox Apps y Hacks", taken from Marketplace with Spanish set as accept language).

Hi Havi-

What Spanish locales does the Hacks newsletter support? All?

Thanks,
Jen

Yes generic Spanish for all Spanish locales.

Name of newsletter is Spanish is: Apps y Hacks
Name of newsletter: Firefox Apps y Hacks (spanish)
Firefox Apps & Hacks (english)

There is one translation done by a Moz Hispano team: it is -es afaik

(Sorry for the delayed reply. I was in Tribe today. I'll keep an eye out tmrw if you have other qs)

Matej's suggestion of "Get developer news." makes sense to me
