Steps to reproduce:

Click on View > Layout > (toggle Message Pane to Off). [Right Cick on] Sent items > [Click] Open.

Actual results:

Now my preference has been lost. The disabled message pane has become enabled.

Expected results:

My (disabled) message plane preference choice should have remained as configured (disabled).

I don't think so… Respecting the current state seems like a reasonable thing to do.

I don't understand what "aiui" is. Thanks in advance if someone would explain. But I would like to mention that is there is a clickable option (which in this case, clicking to open a new window), then the user's preference gets corrupted as a results, I would consider this a bug that needs addressing.

Then new window should come up in the configured (by way of the preference) parameters.

While, as a newcomer to this facility, I understand that I might be brushed off. But I'm sure there are veteran participants who can see the problem and hopefully phrase it into a more accessible format to have the issue taken serious.
