[Blocking Requested - why for this release]: Breaks common use case scenario. song should resume normally when selected by the user

(In reply to No-Jun Park [:njpark] from comment #3) > [Blocking Requested - why for this release]: > Breaks common use case scenario. song should resume normally when selected > by the user I'm not sure that's the correct behavior. I'd have expected the play button to be disabled in the notification tree. (I also disagree that this should be blocking, since it's not a regression. It *would* be nice to fix somehow, though.)
Jim or Hub: Lets get this fixed in master for 2.2...

Before we do that, I think we should check with UX to be sure we're doing the expected thing (see comment 4). For what it's worth, I think doing as comment 0 suggests would be fairly difficult given how audio channels currently work. We'd probably have to bring the music app to the foreground, which would be pretty jarring. (Alternately, we could fix audio channels, but we've been talking about doing that for a while and haven't made much forward progress on it.)

I think in this case, the video should pause when the utility tray is opened, instead of pausing when the music player is pressed. If we disable the play button, I feel the user may not understand why it is disabled and it may be a bit frustrating.

Does this still happen? There have been lots of AudioChannel changes since this bug was filed, and many of the issues have already been fixed.

Hi Jim, This bug can be repro on latest build of Flame KK v2.2(319mb& 512mb), but it can't be repro on latest build of Flame KK v2.5(512mb)&v2.6(512mb) and Aries KK v2.5&v2.6 by the STR in comment 0. When I try to repro this bug on 319mb memory of the latest Flame KK v2.5&v2.6 by the STR in comment 0, the Music app will be killed after lanuching Video app, so I can't check this bug on 319mb memory of Flame v2.5&v2.6. Could you please help to confirm this? Thank you very much. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Actual result: On flame v2.2(319mb & 512mb), song does not resume. Reproduce rate: 10/10. On flame v2.5&v2.6(319mb), once Video app is opened, the Music process will be killed. Reproduce rate: 0/10. On flame v2.5&v2.6(512mb) and Aries v2.5&v2.6, song resumes and the video in the background pauses. Reproduce rate: 0/10.
