If you have airplane mode enabled: - it cannot be turned off from the Notifications drawer - the "Airplane" mode button remains disabled in the Settings app and cannot be toggled - if you try doing "Turn off airplane mode" from the power menu, nothing happens. - the way to disable it is to open the Settings app right after reboot, without opening the Notifications drawer. Only in that case "Airplane" mode button in the Settings app is enabled and can be toggled off. But it needs a reboot again to completely disable it.
Requesting blocking. Really bad. I had to experiment a ton to figure out how to get back into a usable state again. Cert blocker fo sho.

I was unable to reproduce this on Flame 2.2. Adding qawanted to see if they can reproduce this issue.

Need info for Kaustav and Dietrich: I just tested on the build below with my Flame device and cannot reproduce this bug. It seems pretty straight forward. Can you please provide the Device and the build info you found this on? Thanks, QA Environmental Variables: Device: Flame 2.2 Nightly BuildID: 20141112040208 Gaia: 5ae28ff11b982e2bd7d1aa097cda131536952bdc Gecko: 688f821edcd4 Version: 36.0a1 (2.2) Firmware Version: v188-1 User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Mobile; rv:36.0) Gecko/36.0 Firefox/36.0

I reproduced on Flame, official nightly channel (master + m-c), sometime last week was happening constantly - had to reboot and all kinds of stuff. Haven't tried lately. Will be flying again Monday so will have more opportunity then ;)

I saw the error reproduced on Dietrich's device. I am currently running nightly-b2g32, so won't be able to reproduce this. Dietrich's debug info should have the information when he posts it.

(In reply to KTucker [:KTucker] from comment #2) > I was unable to reproduce this on Flame 2.2. Adding qawanted to see if they > can reproduce this issue. Spent over an hour in a nightly build from the day this bug was written up and could not repro. Tried a variety of toggling on and off airplane mode through settings menu, notification menu and power-button menu. Tried every combo of a) turn on here and then b) turn off there. Threw in resetting in the middle as well and then flipping other toggles such as Bluetooth and Wifi. I never got airplane mode 'stuck on'. I know Cody has visited this issue several times with no luck as well. Striking QA-Wanted until further details come in that might assist a repro.

Could it have been possibly caused by a regression in the OTA update? May not be reproducible on fresh builds, but may have been the result of broken migrations somewhere in the code, and so it had affected during OTA. May be helpful to take in feedback from folks running nightly on Flame and updating OTA regularly.
qawanted to check if this happens from OTA, thank you.

I OTA'ed from the following build: Device: Flame 2.2 Master (full flash) BuildID: 20141105040206 Gaia: 7c9e7cabbde941b976e0e40a3a1d94e21aa9c5e9 Gecko: 62990ec7ad78 Gonk: 48835395daa6a49b281db62c50805bd6ca24077e Version: 36.0a1 (2.2 Master) Firmware: V188-1 User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Mobile; rv:36.0) Gecko/36.0 Firefox/36.0 To the following build: Device: Flame 2.2 Master BuildID: 20141217040204 Gaia: d22dfece04fc00457e8369c660c11f945b088d2f Gecko: cb8ad2251c09 Gonk: 48835395daa6a49b281db62c50805bd6ca24077e Version: 37.0a1 (2.2 Master) Firmware: V188-1 User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Mobile; rv:37.0) Gecko/37.0 Firefox/37.0 And I was able to toggle airplane mode on and off correctly post-OTA.
