Steps to reproduce:

I restarted Firefox


Actual results:

Firefox updated out of band without so much as a warning so I could check and see if I approved of the changes.


Expected results:

Firefox should only make out-of-band updates for security flaws, and stick to the schedule. And all updates should announced.

I know you did it so you could hopefully slip in the controversial ads on the New Tabs page without people noticing. Don't do that.

can you give us also the version you was on before the update and also what you get?

about New Tabs page: this was a decision from mozilla teams and will not be changed I think.

Nevermind. I did not get this problem on my other web browser, so it's possible I just missed the update. I don't know enough to pursue this bug, and I can't reproduce it.
