(This affects Firefox release (version 31) on the desktop, too, if you use "Responsive Design View" to get a phone-sized browser-viewport. It's much easier to reproduce if you cap your bandwidth with a tool like "wondershaper" on Linux, so that you actually see the "loading" page [which this bug breaks] for a non-trivial amount of time.)

Any chance this decision could be reconsidered? This bug is actually quite jarring when browsing the marketplace on a Firefox OS device. Every app's page looks broken for ~1 sec, on my home internet connection at least. (and the gray overlay actually blocks the "Loading" text, making it look pretty silly. See attached screenshot)
Also: it's also likely to be a very recent regression -- I only first noticed this in the past few days, and this bug was only filed 4 days ago. And I think it's a regression on the site-content side, given that this affects Firefox release versions. This makes it more blocking-worthy, IMHO, since it's more likely we can track down what caused it, and since we should have a low tolerance for regressions (as opposed to stuff that we've never yet gotten to work).

For demonstration purposes -- here's a screencast of this bug reproducing in Firefox 33 (current release), with my internet artificially capped (emulating non-broadband network conditions) via this command on Ubuntu:
> sudo wondershaper wlan0 50 50
I hit the bug on the 4th app that I clicked, 15 seconds into the video, and the UI stays broken for the entire time that the page assets are loading (which is the whole rest of the video, since I capped my network connection). I eventually disabled wondershaper (with "sudo wondershaper clear wlan0") at the end of the video, to let the page finish loading & fix itself.

[oh, sorry -- I misread comment 1 as being a "not blocking" decision, but really it was just a "not yet clear that this should be nominated" decision]
So, I'll go ahead and nom for blocking, myself. :)
[Blocking Requested - why for this release]:
- Marketplace UI visibly broken (overlay mis-positioned & covering up "Loading" text), especially visible with slow network connection -- i.e. our target userbase -- since slower connection means longer time spent at loading screen.
- Seems to be recent regression, on the marketplace side (at least, only reported in the last week, and I only just noticed this myself in the past few days. Was going to file, & discovered this bug.)
- Affects both Firefox Desktop (with slow network & responsive-design-mode) & Firefox OS, so not a Firefox OS quirk, & should be possible to debug/fix without needing to wrestle with devices.

[obsoleting logcat attachment, since I don't think it's relevant, since this isn't a Firefox-OS-specific bug.]

I can reproduce this bug in Chrome 40 (on my laptop, not on a phone), too, FWIW.

Rumor has it this is the placeholder for the screenshot preview image. It does seem like a Marketplace issue. As far as I know this is not blocking anything and is a P3.
