User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.10; rv:33.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/33.0 Build ID: 20141105223254 Steps to reproduce: Downloaded and Installed Over-the-Air updates. Upgrading firmware and going from version 1.3 to 2.0 on Alcatel Onetouch FireFox Flame phone. I then went through the prompts until I reached my homescreen. I went to Settings > Internet Sharing > tapped Wi-Fi hotspot Actual results: Any device connecting was able to connect to the hotspot. They were able to get a seemingly valid IP address (instead of an internal or self assigned IP address). They could not load any website. No app could connect to the internet. Expected results: The expected result was for browsers on said connected devices to be able to go to desired websites ad load them. For said apps to connect through the hotspot.
Asa, can you figure out who should own this?

Wesly, can you help with this? This appears to be the second wifi related bug in this upgrade. See also bug 1091201. Both look like they need Thundersoft attention.

Wesley, Mike: I definitely experienced this issue on Base Image v188, as reported on Bug 1098505. I experienced this issue on multiple devices that I attempted to connect to my Flame v188, and after multiple reboots and soft resets (taking out the battery). I also included a logcat on Bug 1098505, and will be providing more details if I can still reproduce it after re-flashing v188 Base Image in the next few days. Thanks, - Ralph

to me there are 2 different scenarios, both are wifi hotspot issue and: 1. one is w/ just flash a v188 base image (bug 1098505) 2. another is problem happened after FOTA from v123 to v188. (this one) Since there is log of the former one, I will send that one for vendor to check first.
Would there be a tutorial or instructions on how to get a log from the device? I'm admittedly a bit noobish about mobile development and such. I'd be happy to provide a log if I knew how to pull it from the device.

Hi cc@shwaymail - You have to have ADB installed on your computer and have logging turned on in Developer Options in your device. Then you can run "adb logcat -v time > logcat.txt" I was also asked for the following information in the other bug: 1. "iptables -nvL" 2. "netcfg" 3. "cat /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward" 4. "ps | grep -e dnsmasq -e hostapd -e radish"

Sorry for multiple posts here... is there a way for me to hide my email from displaying as my name... that's not really cool that my email is just sitting out there for all spiders to snag...

Sorry again for the multiple posts (I see no way to edit or delete a post)... I wasn't really clear about the email thing. I mean I realize only logged in users can see it, but I'd still like to hide it though if an option for that exists. I can't seem to find it.
There's no way to hide your email address from logged in users, unfortunately. You can change your email address to a throwaway email account if you like though.

ps | grep -e dnsmasq -e hostapd -e radish 23539 ttys000 0:00.00 grep -e dnsmasq -e hostapd -e radish I was not able to run commands 1,2 and 3 on OSX Yosemite. I did run 4, and attached the log. I hope that helps resolve this quickly.
