Details
To reproduce: 1. Open address book. 2. Select "Personal Address Book" 3. Click the "New Card" toolbar button. 4. Enter First and Last name, but leave Internet Primary field blank. 5. Click OK. This causes a crash in native code, presumably because it has no way to index the entry w/o an email address. The UI shows a "*" next to the field, so maybe just forbidding the dialog from closing until that field has a value will fix it.
adding nbaca to cc: list. Ninoschka - was this what you were seeing before?

Build 1999073011M9/Necko: Win32/NT4 This is what I was seeing. I can reproduce a crash using the following steps: 1. Open address book. 2. Double click onto "Personal Address Book" so it shows some entries in the right pane. 3. Click the "New Card" toolbar button. 4. Enter First and Last name, but leave Internet Primary field blank. 5. Click OK. Note: In step #2 if I single click and continue the steps the crash does not occur. I have to double click to reproduce the crash.
Summary: crash when adding new card with null email address → crash when double clicking Personal Address Book, the opening a card and clicking OK
The summary should change to: Double-clicking on the Personal Address book, then opening a card or creating a new card and clicking OK causes a crash. It happens even if there is data in the Internet primary field. This bug is similiar to 10291 (double-click a card in Select Address dialog), but not exactly the same. I will change the summary. This happens on linux and Win32, mac not tested yet. Old summary read: crash when adding new card with null email address
Candice, I am sending this one to you since it looks like a back-end ab bug.

Please verify on tomorrow's build (8/5's). With the fix for bug 11198 on my local tree, I can't reproduce it. Reopen if you see it on the new build.
Using 19990806 builds on win95, mac and linux both scenarios listed above do now casuse a crash. I will verify this one.
