Please post the graphic section from about:support Does it work in the Firefox safemode http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode ? The graphic hardware acceleration is disabled in the safemode.
Component: Untriaged → Graphics
Product: Firefox → Core
It works well in safe mode. Actually firefox works well most of the time. The bug is hard to reproduce because the artifacts appear only from time to time (after firefox stays open all day long?) and apparently it's not related to a particular web page or user action. But no other application on this system manifests these toolbar/content rendering issues; it's only in firefox.
