they do used bad doctypes though: <!doctype html public "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-html40/loose.dtd"> btw, for QNX Voyager, they send the content GZ encoded but Voyager doesn't know to decode it :-( Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; QNX x86pc; en-US; rv:0.9.5+) Gecko/20011030. Mozilla/3.04 (compatible;QNX Voyager 2.03B ;Photon).

The page hosted at cvs.distributed.net is running an uncustomized installation of cvsweb, which is at http://stud.fh-heilbronn.de/~zeller/cgi/cvsweb.cgi/ As per the cvsweb source, gzip compression is automatically used if the following expression is true: $maycompress = (((defined($ENV{'HTTP_ACCEPT_ENCODING'}) && $ENV{'HTTP_ACCEPT_ENCODING'} =~ m|gzip|) || $Browser =~ m%^Mozilla/3%) && ($Browser !~ m/MSIE/) && !(defined($ENV{'MOD_PERL'}) && !$has_zlib)); So Voyager is receiving gzipped content because of the "Mozilla/3" portion of its user-agent string.
