Started to fail this afternoon with beta runs, as the search on addons.allizom.org seems to be unavailable, I've filed bug 1100977 for this. We've seen this before, unfortunately.

This is bad to see! I wonder if we should use the public version of AMO for beta, release, and ESR branches. This would not cause those problems. I would highly vote for that.

Yes, I'd vote for using public AMO for important branches.

I remember there was a discussion (and quite possibly a bug) to change this to the production AMO servers except Nightly (maybe Aurora) where we'll still test AMO staging, but a outage like this one should not affect Beta & Release runs.
I can't find the bug right now.

There was bug 1058445 which handled the switch to staging. And there is bug 1072146 for switching to the public server.
