I am not sure if we can do anything about this; but here it goes.....
1) Visit above URL
2) click on www.microsoft.com/msdownload/platformsdk/sdkupdate/psdkredist.htm in

   the page

Result:

---- Sorry, here it goes again.

Message: The Platform SDK site requires Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.0
or later. You can download Internet Explorer for free.

Expected result:
Should be redirected to Platform SDK Redistributables site.

I see this too, Win98SE, 2001112009

This isn't a problem with mozilla, it's the website blocking non-IE browsers.

Since (if you visit with IE5) the page in question immediately starts mucking
about with ActiveX and trying to install software on your machine using
Windows-specific MS-proprietary methods, I think you've had it.

Theoretically, this is Tech Evangelism, so I'll punt it over there, but I am not
optimistic about our chances of getting Microsoft to amend this page to support
non-IE browsers.

I am experiencing this, too. Looks like I can't punt IE entirely :(
What we've run into is something quite similar to Windows Update being
used to distribute updates for the Microsoft Windows Platform SDK.
Microsoft could solve this problem by following the approach it uses
in security bulletins, providing the patches as a self-extracting EXE
archive rather than through an ActiveX component.

(I'm rummaging through the Microsoft.com tracker bug 114158 due to
recent changes in the behavior of 141279 and bug 145177. To filter
messages related to this activity, search for "tepplesmsn200209".)
Same behavior in Moz 1.3.1 OSX.

This is now WFM. Microsoft.com site had been completely re-designed and the same goes for Microsoft Download Center.
