List Name: mozilla.dev.version-control
List Admin: gps@mozilla.com, laura@mozilla.com,
Short Description:
Discussion of version control
Long Description:
Discussion of version control services, usage, and customizations at Mozilla.
Justification / Special Instructions:
The list already exists at https://mail.mozilla.org/listinfo/version-control-dev.
I would like NNTP and/or Google Groups syndication.

Sadly, one can't "add" NNTP/Groups to an existing list. The lists attached to discussion forums are on a different system, @lists.mozilla.org rather than @mail.mozilla.org. And all 3 parts have to be created together.
We can certainly create you a new forum, though, with all 3 parts, and you could ask people on the old list to move.
Is that OK?

Ugh. I really wish I knew this when I went to ServiceNow and filed the request. I even said I wanted NNTP and/or Groups when I created the request. I would expect whoever processed the request to know I should have been directed here from the get go :/
The existing list is brand new and only has a handful of messages. Losing that minimal data and moving on now is better than not having NNTP/Groups forever.
Let's move it.
Is there any way we can migrate the archives between mailman instances?

Sorry about that :-( I can't control what happens in Service Now. The normal form:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/form.mozlist
explains when to use Service Now and when to use that form, but I can't make everyone start there either. You weren't to know - no blame on you.
No idea about archive migration; that's one for the server-ops team. Over to them for creation.

I'll go ahead and get the list created. Also I'll try the archive migration and keep the bug updated.

Discussion form has been created and sent off to giganews. Please allow 24-48 hours for turnaround.
Also rbryce is looking into the archive migration.

Everything is good to go as far as the creation of the discussion form. We were unable to process the archive migration. If any issues, please reopen this bug.

I'm confused about what to do next. How do I access this list? Is there an admin interface for me to transfer members from the old list?

Justdave: Are you able to answer Gregory's question? I'm unsure how to go about the archive migration.

The admin UI is at:
https://lists.mozilla.org/admin/dev-version-control
You should have been sent a password; if not, those CCed on the bug should be able to provide you with it. You should be able to add members there.

I found the password buried in an email. I was able to log in. Posting from NNTP worked.
Thanks a bunch for setting up this list.
