Details

1. Install a webapp, e.g. from https://staktrace.com/util/webapp.php
2. Open the webapp
3. Long press on a link
4. Select the option to open the link on a new tab
5. Wait for the toast to disappear
6. Try to switch to the new tab. Impossible!

The tab does actually open because if you switch tabs using the toast button in step 5 it will work but then you can't get back to to your original tab.

I think the correct behavior here is to not have the context menu item at all.

When using the WebApp runtime on Desktop, the link context menu is the thing I miss most. I want to open a link in my Browser (no the webapp) without leaving the WebApp.

On mobile, we could remove the menu, or we could make sure that any links are always opened in the Browser (externally) instead of internally.

We should already be doing that for tapped links.

This breaks Persona login for my web app when installed on Android. It's especially irritating because Persona is a first class login on Firefox OS.
Per bug 1235869, we're going to disable the Android web runtime, so we won't fix this bug in it.

(This is part of a bulk resolution of bugs in the Firefox for Android::Web Apps component, from which I attempted to exclude bugs that are not specific to the runtime, but it's possible that I included one accidentally. If so, I'm sorry, and please reopen the bug!)
