I had 2 windows and the devtools Scratchpad open. In window 1 I had 6 pinned tabs and ~15 other tabs open. In window 2 I had 2 tabs open.

I was away from machine for a few minutes and when I came back window 2 was showing the "content process crashed, reload?" UI. I then switched to window 1 and was not presented with the content process crashed UI.

I closed all windows and restarted Firefox and only window 1 was restored with all of my pinned tabs showing as _"New Tab"_ and about 50% of my other tabs (with favicons and titles) reloading when I opened them.

I asked mconley if there was any state worth capturing and he said no but that I should file this anyway.
To be clear - did you click on the Try Again button after being shown it in window 2?

Yes, and it didn't work so that's why I closed all windows.

No luck reproducing this so far.

overholt - in comment 0, you say that Window 1 was not showing you the content process crashed UI... do you remember what it was showing you instead?

IIRC it was blank content areas with properly-rendered tabs/favicons.

That tells me that something screwed up with the takedown of those browser tabs when the content process crashed - so it's not surprising that your session got all screwed up. :/

If you see this again, can you please open the Browser Console to see if there's anything strange in there that might indicate what went wrong during the crash handling?

Until then, I think we should just close this as INCOMPLETE until we get more data. Sorry!
