Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:34.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/34.0
Build ID: 20141127111021

Steps to reproduce:

Let's say I have two SIM and I put them on my Flame.

Actual results:

There are various user cases when it would be nice to have "Telcel" & "Movistar" instead od "SIM 1" and "SIM 2".
The thing is, for the user, it means nothing where the SIM is (slot 0 or slot 1), but _which_ SIM is he using.

Expected results:

So user should be able to customize SIM names; not only replace SIM 1 with custom text, but maybe user should be able to "name" their SIM cards.

Devices like Flame should be able to store an ArrayList of pairs: {SIM_id,SIM_name}, so when user inserts a new (unknown) SIM card, should be able to customize SIM_name. Then callscreen, smsscreen, SIM manager, etc. should be able to display SIM_name instead of "SIM X".

For new, unknown, non-customized SIM cards, Gaia should display something like SIM Operator, maybe togheter with SIM slot.
P.S. I think cost controll is allready able to determine _wich_ SIM is the user using for data connection. Maybe we already have such a database of SIM_ids?
