Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_10_1) AppleWebKit/600.1.25 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/8.0 Safari/600.1.25
Steps to reproduce:
Upgraded from Firefox 33.1 to Firefox 34.
Actual results:
I have a number of custom search plugin files (e.g. oxfordthesaurus.xml, googlescholar.xml, etc.) that no longer show up in the search bar dropdown menu. For that matter, nothing shows up in the dropdown menu except "Change Search Settings", and when clicked my custom providers aren't listed.
However, the files remain on disk in the directory '~/Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/browser/searchplugins'.
The shortcuts I had set up previously no longer work either.
Expected results:
I expected to use Firefox 34 with the same search plugins and shortcuts that I had been using in previous version of Firefox.

The OS X package layout changed because of OS X requirements (cf. http://hearsum.ca/blog/upcoming-changes-to-mac-package-layout-signing/ ) . I'm not sure why you (manually, I think?) added search providers into the browser package, but if you add them in your own user profile (~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/<yourprofiledir>/searchplugins/ ) then they should work fine.
I'm not sure offhand where they go in the app package in the new layout, but it should be possible to add them there, too - just in a different place than they are now.
I'm resolving this because there is essentially not really anything we can do to fix this now that 34 has shipped.
