User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:34.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/34.0
Build ID: 20141126041045

Steps to reproduce:

I have to set loop.throttled value to "false" in order to have Hello icon to appear, which is working in beta.
When I opened up Firefox nightly using the same profile as Firefox beta, the Hello icon is present.
Then I switched back to Firefox beta (with the same profile), the Hello icon disappeared and loop.throttled value was set back to "true".

Actual results:

I switched back to Firefox beta (with the same profile), the Hello icon disappeared and loop.throttled value was set back to "true".

Expected results:

Hello icon should be present in both beta and nightly using the same profile, without manually changing the loop.throttled value.

Sounds like Loop should have an override pref or at least use different prefs for beta/nightly etc., and not change the defaults...
Aha, bug 1073218 is explicitly removing the old prefs to clean up the profiles.

I don't think there's much worth doing here. Cleaning up is good, and changing browser isn't frequent. The throttle is not throttling, so currently all beta users should be getting the button.

When 35 is shipped, that'll be the last release using the throttle. There may be some remaining inconvenience for devs using release & old versions, but hopefully that will be short lived if we are able to raise the throttle quickly enough.

Hence, I'm closing this as wontfix, as doing something doesn't seem to gain us that much when the issue will go away real soon anyway.
